General QA Engineer

We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join our dynamic team at Kyivstar.Tech. In this role, you will take part in a high-load project CRM platform in the telecom industry.

What will you do

• Analyze and clarify business and technical requirements
• Design test plans, test strategies, and test cases for services
• Perform functional, integration, and performance testing
• Investigate issues using logs and metrics tools (Grafana, Kibana)
• Develop and maintain automated test scenarios using Java from scratch (back-end)
• Develop and maintain automated test scenarios for front-end from scratch (Playwright, TS)
• Develop an automated testing approach and test scripts based on requirements-related artifacts
• Provide automated testing coverage forthe project
• Provide metrics and reporting with different tools like Allure or etc.
• Be up-to-date with the main popular AQA strategies, tools, and technologies
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and analysts in an Agile approach
• Actively contribute to QA process improvements and automation frameworks

Qualifications and experience needed

• 4+ years of experience in automation testing
• 4+ years of experience with Programming languages (Java, TypeScript)
• 2+ years of experience with Playwright
• 4+ years of experience with WEB application testing
• 4+ years of experience with API testing (e.g., Postman)
• Experience in writing test documentation
• Knowledge of testing methodologies
• Hands-on experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Experience with DB clients and strong knowledge of PostgreSQL
• Understanding of client-server architecture, microservices, and backend experience
• Good understanding of SDLC and STLC
• Experience in Linux/Unix environments and confident use of command-line tools
• Experience with test documentation: test plans, strategies, test cases, and bug reports
• Strong Java automation skills — ability to build test automation frameworks from scratch
• Intermediate or higher level of English (written and spoken)

Nice to have

• Performance testing experience with JMeter or a similar tool
• Ability to build test automation frameworks from scratch

Qualifications and experience needed

• 3+ years of QA experience with a focus on backend testing
• Strong experience with API testing (e.g., Postman)
• Solid knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases
• Experience in Linux/Unix environments and confident use of command-line tools
• Good understanding of testing methodologies and client-server architecture
• Hands-on experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Experience with test documentation: test plans, strategies, test cases, and bug reports
• Strong Java automation skills — ability to build test automation frameworks from scratch
• Intermediate or higher level of English (written and spoken)

A plus would be

• Experience with performance testing tools
• Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols and analyzing network traffic (e.g., using Wireshark)
• Prior experience with tools like Zephyr, Confluence, DBeaver
• Understanding of microservices architecture and communication patterns
