🚀 Senior WordPress Full Stack Developer

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Senior WordPress Full Stack Developer to evolve our B2B Insurtech Marketplace into a robust, scalable, and custom-built platform. This role requires a technical generalist with deep expertise across WordPress development, PHP backend logic, frontend implementation, server optimisation, and security settings.

Job Type: Remote, Full-time

The core of our project is to establish a B2B marketplace for Insurtech products, currently built on WordPress using the Freeio theme and a specific Figma design. We are transitioning into a phase of custom development to replace theme dependencies and add new, complex functionalities crucial for market growth. Your role will be critical in driving the technical excellence and stability of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Systematically replace features reliant on the Freeio theme with custom WordPress/PHP solutions to ensure long-term flexibility and performance.
• Design, develop, and implement new, complex marketplace functionalities on demand as the project evolves.
• Implement the provided Figma design specifications, ensuring the final website aligns visually and functionally.
• Develop / integrate external plugins and libraries like Highcharts, Lokalize.
• Ensure the website maintains high performance through rigorous optimisation and caching setup.
• Work with the existing DevOps specialist to configure the hosting environment (running on PHP 8) and enhance security settings.
• Set up an admin panel that a content manager can easily fill out.
• Provide necessary documentation and training for the team (admin panel and analytics usage).

Hard Skills Requirements

Strong expertise in:

• Senior-level PHP Development (specifically PHP 8) and deep familiarity with WordPress core, filters and hooks.
• Full-Stack capability: proficient in both backend (PHP, WordPress) and frontend (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) development.
• Plugin and theme development skills: proven ability to make custom code according to WordPress codex and PHP standards.
• Performance optimization: expertise in code, database, and asset optimization, along with experience configuring a caching setup.
• Server & hosting environment management: strong knowledge of server settings, deployment principles and security best practices.
• Expert-level use of Git: branching, merging, and maintaining project repositories.
• Figma implementation: ability to accurately translate UI/UX designs from Figma into functional, responsive code.
• Analytics setup: expertise in Google Analytics integration and basic SEO setup.
• A strong plus is the ability to program web applications using other frameworks, not limited to PHP.
• Knowledge of cloud deployment practices is also beneficial.

Soft Skills Requirements

• Generalist Mindset: Proactive, self-directed, and motivated to manage a broad range of technical responsibilities (backend, frontend, server, security).
• Communication: Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with product owners, designer, and the dedicated DevOps specialist.
