About the project:
Our client is a leading European fintech company with a mission to simplify international payments for e-commerce and retail businesses. Our brand was formed from 13 companies that now contribute to building a unique product covering the entire payment flow.
We are seeking an experienced IT professional to support the decommissioning of our on-premises Active Directory environment and ensure a seamless transition to Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD). This role involves working closely with application owners, infrastructure teams, and stakeholders to eliminate legacy dependencies and optimize our Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
Project duration: Engagement is planned for 6 months.
Please note: Residency within the EU is a requirement for this position.
What your work will look like:
- Decommission Active Directory servers and ensure all services and users rely solely on Entra ID.
- Support migration to Entra ID, including identity, access, and governance configurations.
- Assist application owners in removing dependencies on Active Directory (e.g., file servers).
- Migrate Windows-based applications to new Windows servers (Workstation).
- Perform post-decommission cleanup in Entra ID, including:
- Users, groups, and roles
- Applications and service principals
- Emails, SharePoint sites, and related resources
- Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online).
- Implement security best practices using Microsoft Defender and related tools.
- Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure-as-Code (PowerShell, Terraform).
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Proven experience in Active Directory decommissioning and migration to Entra ID.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including conditional access, identity protection, and governance.
- Hands-on experience with Intune, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint Online.
- Expertise in Windows Server administration, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with automation tools (PowerShell, Terraform) and scripting for infrastructure tasks.
- Understanding of security standards and compliance in Microsoft environments.
- Ability to collaborate with application owners and stakeholders to remove legacy dependencies.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Microsoft Defender and advanced security configurations.
- Previous involvement in large-scale M365 or Azure migration projects.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
