We are a large, fast-growing IT outsourcing company with clear and simple processes. Currently, we are looking for a Back-end Department Manager (Java) to join our Ukrainian team.
What You’ll Do
- People management/resource (group) management — employees career development, performance reviews, salary management, coaching, mentorship;
- Staffing: identify candidates for opened positions, manage rotations, manage bench;
- Hiring/firing decisions, manage interviewing process;
- Be responsible for departmental KPIs and achieving goals;
- Work with Training Center to coordinate talent development;
- Coordinate with Practice Lead and Country Manager and execute a plan to grow department capabilities;
- Assist Country Manager in representing the company in the local labor market as a subject matter expert;
- Participate in development process, code reviews to create robust and maintainable code.
Technologies:
- Java 8+, 11; Spring Framework; Spring boot, Hibernate
- MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL
- Experience in Unit tests and related patterns;
- Experience with Docker;
- Experience in Cloud technologies
- GIT
- REST/Microservices
Job Requirements
- Great leadership and organizational skills;
- 8 years of experience in the software development industry;
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a manager or team lead;
- Solid understanding of business goals and processes of a software development service company;
- Being proactive and stress-resistant;
- Solid technical experience with Java;
- Desire and ability to do administrative work and people management;
- Self-motivated and confident, results driven;
- Experience working in a matrix organization with multiple dimensions of stakeholders;
- Ability to handle conflict situations, good negotiation and diplomatic skills;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Good skills in verbal and written English;
