Technical Project Manager

We are a product company with over 10 years of experience in software development. As our team continues to grow, we are looking for an independent Senior Technical Project Manager with a strong technical background and systems-thinking mindset who can effectively manage development processes, participate in technical and architectural discussions, identify risks at an early stage, and help the team make well-informed decisions aligned with the long-term goals of the product and the business.

Requirements

• 3+ years of project management experience in software development;
• Previous hands-on experience in software engineering, preferably as a Backend Developer, Data Engineer, Software Architect, or Technical Lead;
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC);
• Deep understanding of APIs, integrations, and frontend/backend interaction principles;
• Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts, including High Availability, Fault Tolerance, CAP Theorem, replication, sharding, and data consistency;
• Understanding of monitoring, logging, incident management, and production support processes;
• Ability to understand, analyze, and compare technical solutions from both technical and business perspectives;
• Strong analytical and structured thinking skills with the ability to quickly understand new technical domains;
• Ability to proactively identify risks, dependencies, and technical constraints;
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in uncertain environments;
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management abilities;
• English proficiency at Intermediate level or higher.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with high-load systems;
• Knowledge of streaming technologies, WebRTC, or video communication platforms;
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, releases, and support;
• Coordinate team activities, priorities, timelines, and dependencies;
• Collaborate closely with technical leads, architects, developers, and business stakeholders;
• Participate in technical and architectural discussions, analyzing and comparing proposed solutions;
• Identify and manage technical, product, and organizational risks at early stages;
• Manage project changes and assess their impact on timelines and deliverables;
• Coordinate release planning and delivery processes;
• Participate in the coordination and resolution of critical production incidents;
• Work closely with development teams on task estimation and planning;
• Ensure completeness of requirements by identifying missing scenarios, constraints, and dependencies;
• Constructively challenge technical decisions and help the team find the most effective implementation approaches.
