About the Company

INFOBUS.EU is a European B2C platform for online bus ticket sales, serving millions of users annually. In 2026, we are launching a full-scale technology transformation — including a complete architecture rebuild, tech stack migration, and process overhaul.

We are looking for a hands-on CTO to lead a full-scale transformation of our product and engineering organization.

Your mission is to:

  • decouple and evolve the architecture,
  • rebuild engineering execution,
  • and enable fast growth of our B2C platform,
    while maintaining stability of the existing B2B system.

This is a high-impact transformation role, requiring both strong technical depth and operational leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product & Architecture Transformation

  • Define and execute a practical, step-by-step strategy to evolve a legacy monolith
  • Lead the decoupling of B2C and B2B domains, prioritizing B2C growth
  • Introduce modern architectural approaches (modularization, microservices where appropriate, event-driven design)
  • Make hands-on architectural decisions, balancing speed, risk, and scalability

2. Engineering Execution & Delivery

  • Establish clear development processes focused on speed, focus, and delivery
  • Reduce chaos by introducing prioritization, WIP limits, and a transparent roadmap
  • Improve time-to-market and release frequency
  • Ensure engineering efforts translate into business outcomes

3. Team Rebuild & Leadership

  • Assess current team capabilities and make hard performance decisions
  • Rebuild and strengthen the engineering team (20+ people)
  • Implement structured onboarding and clear ownership
  • Build a culture of accountability, execution, and continuous improvement

4. Product & Business Alignment

  • Work closely with Product, Marketing, and Analytics teams
  • Ensure tech decisions support conversion, UX, and growth metrics
  • Align engineering priorities with business goals and revenue impact

5. Platform Stability (B2B)

  • Maintain stability and reliability of the existing B2B system
  • Avoid risky “big bang” rewrites
  • Ensure continuity while transformation is in progress

Requirements:

Must-have:

  • Proven experience as CTO / Head of Engineering in a product company
  • Experience leading technology transformation of legacy systems
  • Hands-on experience evolving monolith → scalable architecture
  • Strong background in B2C products (100k+ MAU)
  • Experience managing and rebuilding engineering teams (20+ people)
  • Track record of improving delivery speed and team performance
  • Strong product mindset (UX, conversion, growth metrics)
  • English — Upper-Intermediate+

Critical (we will assess this carefully):

  • Ability to make hands-on architectural decisions
  • Deep understanding of system design, scalability, and trade-offs
  • Experience fixing underperforming teams
  • Ability to reduce chaos and introduce focus in engineering workflows
  • Strong execution mindset in fast-changing environments

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in eCommerce / TravelTech / marketplaces
  • Experience with search systems (Elasticsearch, etc.)
  • Experience with ML/AI (personalization, recommendations)
