Now we are seeking an experienced DevOps Manager to lead a team of engineers whose mission is to provide resilient and reliable solutions for our product. As a leader of this team, the candidate will be accountable for the CI/CD automation and rollout strategy, infrastructure management, deployments, and change management on the product. The candidate will ensure adherence to the marked leading DevOps practices and be a change agent for process and controls improvement. WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Manage DevOps team of 4 highly skilled engineers. Plan team capacity, hire new team members if necessary.
  • Build highly available, scalable, and reliable infrastructure in AWS for both production and development environments.
  • Automate build, test, deploy and release management processes. Implement CI/CD according to DevOps best practices.
  • Manage infrastructure capacity, performance, and cost. Develop and implement strategic plans for infrastructure growth according to engineering teams’ needs.
  • Plan and implement security measures to provide compliance with security audits requirements and zero trust architecture principles.
  • Build and continuously improve proactive monitoring for production services to guarantee the necessary uptime level. Manage on-call schedules and support activities.

WHAT YOU’LL DO ON A TYPICAL DAY:

  • Daily sync with team members: review the progress for each project task; identify blockers; review, assign and prioritize operational tasks in Jira backlog.
  • Review a few merge requests for planned infrastructure changes. E.g., implementing rate limiting for K8S service with NGINX ingress controller (changes to Helm chart), setting up infrastructure components in a new region (Terraform configuration).
  • Sync with software architect and dev tech lead to clarify tech solution requirements. E.g., KEDA implementation for scaling K8S deployments based on an SQS queue length.
  • Call with a senior DevOps engineer: discuss the plan for migrating legacy infrastructure components to AWS, brainstorming on possible technical solutions.
  • One-on-one meeting with a team member: discuss issues/blockers, personal development plan.
  • Review infrastructure purchase contracts, analyze recent AWS bills.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • 2-3+ years of experience working as a Lead DevOps Engineer or DevOps Manager.
  • Good experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and IaaC tools (Terraform).
  • Good experience with Docker and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • Experienced with modern monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Elasticsearch.
  • Fluent in at least one software development/scripting language.
  • Experience with planning and forecasting work and projects.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment and show initiative to take on responsibilities.
  • Decision-making, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Time management with the ability to organize, assess, and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
  • Experience working in an agile Scrum team and strong interpersonal communication skills.
