— Minimum of two published AAA titles with one in an Animation Director or equivalent position
— Experience overseeing all areas of animation content, including performance capture and keyframe animation
— Still actively animating
— Aware of current technology trends and tools that best suit the production in the development of a stronger creative technical environment
— Understanding of an industry-leading level-editor (Unreal a plus)
— Demonstrated experience building AI and playable characters using state machines
— Outstanding understanding of shape, composition, physical motion, weight, balance, and timing
— Fluency in 3D workflows and most common software platforms (Motion Builder, etc.)
— The ability to quickly prototype Unreal blueprints and help drive the direction of player and AI technical animation setups
— Able to collaborate well with various departments

As the Animation Director, you will:
— Develop a unique animation style and creative vision that connects with the IP & complements the game design
— Establish the animation pipeline within the studio.
— Help map animation work based on scope in order to deliver world-class quality within given constraints
— Provide expert feedback to animators
— Collaborate with designers to establish industry-leading 3Cs
— Ensure the project’s direction is followed by working closely with various directors, producers, and scriptwriters
— Provide feedback on rigs and animation pipeline tools
— Understand the implications of performance, style, quality, continuity, and technical requirements
— Create and maintain workflow documentation and style and direction documents
— Recruit and provide day-to-day feedback for the Animation team
— Work with technology to define and produce R&D goals relative to the character animation pipeline
— Work closely with player and AI programmers in tight iteration loops to achieve tight 3Cs and animation/code integration
