On behalf of Eagle Genomics, GT is looking for Data Scientist with a solid background in NLP to join their newly created prototyping team in Kyiv.

As a Data Scientist, you will utilize your analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets, and participate in the development of the e[DataScientist] platform.

The product development team in Kyiv: 2 Data Scientists, 2 Software Engineers. The team is currently expanding, so we are awaiting more engineers, a designer, and a project manager to join us soon. Your line manager will be a Data Science Director who is based in the UK.

The technology stack we are using: Python, R, Tensorflow, Keras, Skikit-learn, React, Angular, AWS. But we are always open to something new if it’s reasonable.

Requirements:

Essential:

• Solid background in NLP.
• Strong programming experience in either R or Python.
• Working knowledge of Linux.
• Proven track record in analyzing and interpreting large data sets and statistical analysis.
• Degree in relevant fields such as statistics, computer science, computational biology, etc.
• A Ph.D. degree is not required but preferred.
• Solid knowledge of machine learning and deep learning techniques.
• Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
• The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with specialists from your own and other fields.

Nice to have:

• Industrial experience working with a multidisciplinary team.
• Publications in academic setting and patents in a commercial setting.

Responsibilities:

• Development of prototype solutions, mathematical models, algorithms, machine learning techniques, and robust analytics to support analytic insights and visualization of complex data sets.
• Drive innovation by exploring new experimentation methods and statistical techniques that could sharpen or speed up our product decision-making processes.
• Develop and deploy testing hypotheses and analyze test results, providing the necessary analytical rigor to ensure data quality, consistency, repeatability, and accuracy of insights.
• Cross-trains other team members on technologies being developed, while also continuously learning new technologies from other team members.
• Interacts with engineering teams and ensures that solutions meet customer requirements in terms of functionality, performance, availability, scalability, and reliability.
