We are looking for Senior Big Data Engineer to join our global team!

Our customer is one of the world’s largest technology companies based in Silicon Valley with operations all over the world. The project goal is to develops analytics systems that will generate insights for marketing teams. The engineering team is distributed, giving us a chance to work with leading big data engineers both in Europe and overseas.

The Analytics Data Engineering team is responsible for building analytics platforms, datasets and processes required for analyzing and enhancing the product experience. This means that we build computing platforms and datasets to empower product, marketing, features, analytics, and data science. Given the size and complexity of our datasets this is not a trivial task.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering;
• Experience with Apache Spark is essential;
• Solid programming skills in Scala are crucial;
• Familiarity with big data technologies and frameworks such as Hadoop, Hive, and HDFS is important;
• Experience in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines is required;
• Proficiency in working with distributed systems and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is necessary;
• Proficiency in monitoring and optimizing Spark applications for performance is important;
• Good communication and leadership skills.
