GlobalLogic is inviting an experienced Cloud Application Architect to join our engineering team.

Our Client is a world-leading manufacturer of premium quality “smart” beds designed to help answer questions about not being able to sleep at night through innovative technologies and digitalized solutions.

Our client is a fast-moving, highly technical team of people with the ambitious goal of bringing people better health and well-being through the best possible sleep experience, aimed to be the leader in sleep. The product combines established expertise in creating comfortable, adjustable beds with the latest in sleep science, cutting-edge sensor technology, and data processing algorithms.

The Role:

As a Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for the leadership and strategic innovation for cloud environments and services, help guide our infrastructure strategies, and develop new technologies and platforms.

We are looking for individuals, who have a desire to architect and the ability to rapidly analyze use cases, design technical solutions that meet business needs while adhering to existing standards and postures and lead multiple technical teams during implementation. Successful candidates will have excellent written and oral communication skills in English; will be comfortable explaining technical concepts to a wide range of audiences, including senior leadership, and has a deep understanding of modern architecture and design practices, patterns, and tools.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical fielded
• 8-10 years of large-scale software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in two or more of the following languages: Java, JavaScript, Node.js, or Python
• Solid experience working with customers/Product owners/Product managers to convert requirements into the technical specifications
• Demonstrated experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
• Demonstrated success as a software developer, and application architect with various platforms
• Architecting, designing, and developing applications on the AWS platform
• Designing and building applications using Container and serverless technologies in AWS
• Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability, and high availability
• Good exposure to Agile software development and DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration, and automated deployment
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies
• Familiarity with Azure is a plus
• Worked with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Able to work in a diverse cross-functional team

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a hands-on Cloud application architect who has built applications to be fully optimized, they need to be architected to take advantage of the global scale, elasticity, automation, and high availability features of the AWS cloud.

He has experience building cloud-native applications using AWS developer’s API services such as API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, SQS, Kinesis, AI, and others providing opportunities to design and build cloud-ready applications.

• Work as a technical leader alongside customer business, development, and infrastructure teams and Lead technical and design discussions to help speed their adoption of new technologies and practices by developing and owing POC.
• Work with business stakeholders/product managers to convert business requirements into technical specifications
• AWS best practices for building a microservices architecture
• Influence infrastructure architecture by sharing your application development expertise
