Avocet is a high-growth startup in the advertising technology industry with a headquarter in London. Avocet builds and operates a Demand-Side Platform, providing cutting-edge machine-learning solutions to major agencies and brands around the world, helping them run more effective media campaigns.
We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter to join our engineering team as a Site Reliability Engineer. At Avocet, you will have the opportunity to work on interesting, large-scale software and infrastructure projects on a daily basis. We’re a small team but our tech stack is big! Our system routinely deals with billions of requests per day, so you’ll be exposed to the challenges of building and maintaining high-traffic web services. You’ll be working on microservices written in Go and deployed with Kubernetes in AWS across 5 regions globally.
— Proven experience in a software engineering role at a
— In-depth knowledge of Go (Golang) and experience using Go in a production setting.
— Experience using Docker and Kubernetes in a production environment.
— Experience with AWS and Terraform is a plus.
— Strong technical troubleshooting skills are required as you will be part of the response team that investigates and addresses issues in our production environment.

— Supporting the design and development of new services & features with hands-on control over the architecture, technology and tools used.
— Using the available monitoring and alerting tools to detect, diagnose and resolve technical issues as quickly as possible.
— Participating in code reviews and helping to improve the systems and processes used by our engineering team.
— Develop and maintain tooling that helps improve the quality of life of our engineering and operations teams.
— Monitor and improve the instrumentation that we use to monitor the health of our technology stack.
