● 4+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer (Python Developer), including deploying and maintaining code in a production environment
● Experience with Python frameworks (e.g. Django, Flask, Bottle)
● Familiarity with Cloud Infrastructure (Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure) and REST API
● Experience with Natural Language Processing and Information Extraction
● Familiarity with Data Mining Concepts
● Experience working with large unstructured text data sets and preparing them for analysis
● Experience with big data tools (Spark, Kafka, Flink, Hadoop, etc.)
● Experience in writing microservices and knowledge of asyncio and aiohttp will be a plus
● Fluent English. German is a plus, but not necessary.

● Design and implementation of components/modules for data extraction, storage, and manipulation
● Coordination with internal teams to understand user requirements and provide technical solutions
● Development of integrations with third-party applications (APIs)
● Development and maintenance of data export formats for third party applications
● Application of agile software development and test-driven development methods
● Mentoring of junior developers’ technical product understanding and coaching to meet internal coding best practices
● Support of the test-driven development of the software stack (e.g. code reviews, unit tests, CI) and documentation
● Configuration and maintenance of software/system deployment scripts
