Jiji is a leading online marketplace in Africa and a Genesis partner company. In 2019, we acquired OLX’s business in five countries. Now, across these locations, the platform attracts over 13 million unique users monthly who engage with over 5 million ads with a total value of over $10 billion.

Jiji is currently among the most downloaded and highest-rated apps in African e-commerce.

We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer to support product development by taking on design execution tasks and helping maintain quality across Android, iOS, and web platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Craft interfaces for new features in a way that’s consistent with existing architecture across three platforms (all in Material Design).
• Design system maintenance, optimization & cleanup in Figma.
• Iterative improvements to existing features.
• Development, maintenance, and improvement of existing user flows across three platforms in the dynamic environment of a growing product.
• Focus on solutions that work within existing constraints while planning for future improvements.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in UI/UX design.
• At least 1 year of experience in mobile design.
• Excellent Figma skills, especially with components and auto-layout.
• Understanding of how to work with guidelines (Google Material Design).
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and prioritize problems based on impact.
• Comfortable working in an asynchronous, international team environment.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Solid understanding of atomic design principles.
• Attention to visual details.
• Ability to learn and grow independently.

Will be a plus:

• English at Upper-Intermediate level or higher.
• Interest in user experience research.
