We are looking for Senior Legal Counsel who will provide expert legal advice and guidance to the non-residential entities on a wide range of legal matters.
This position primarily focuses on agreements drafting, legal research, interpreting and ensuring compliance of B2C websites with applicable laws and regulations in gambling and AML/CFT industry standards, advising on licensing and certification procedures, carrying out pre-trial work with clients and communicating with regulatory authorities.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, analyze, and coordinate complex international agreements (MSA, SOW, SLA, White-Label, license agreements, and others);
• Conduct an in-depth legal opinion and research in gambling, including but not limited to various local jurisdiction framework, land-base or online license applications, applicable fees and taxes, technical and certification requirements, substance requirements etc.;
• Provide assistance and legal support in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), preparation of commercial proposals (RFP, RFI), participation in international public procurements, and advise business in enhancing operational activities.;
• Support corporate structuring processes, companies registration as well as draft corporate documents (articles of association, minutes, shareholder agreements);
• Take active part in obtaining gambling licenses, permits and certification of platforms;
• Provide updated with current laws, regulations, and industry developments relevant to organization of gambling operations, internet technologies, cyber sports and other related areas;
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders in developing and updating policies and procedures aligning with regulatory requirements in gambling, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing measures, data protection etc.;
• Carry out pre-trial legal work with clients and customers;
• Collaborate closely with companies departments, such as Finance, PM, IT, Marketing, Customer support, Risk audit and wagering department to ensure legal compliance and provide guidance on legal matters;
• Supervise and mentor middle legal and junior staff.
Demand: • Higher legal education; • 3+ years’ legal work experience in international companies (preferably in gambling, high risks industries or IT);
• Conduct in-depth legal research on complex regulatory issues;
• Experience with obtaining gambling license process in EU, LATAM, Asia areas — is a plus; • Knowledge of English — Proficiency + Legal English; • Experience in the area of international law;
• Knowledge of AML/CFT, data protection, payment processing; • Confident user of PC, Internet.
