As a Senior Email Marketing Manager you will be responsible for newsletter performance across engagement, retention, monetization, deliverability, and overall subscriber experience. This role combines strategic thinking, hands-on execution, experimentation, and operational ownership.

Initially, you will manage 7–10 newsletters with the opportunity to scale beyond that and eventually build a team around the operation.

What You’ll Do

Newsletter Growth & Performance

• Own engagement and retention across multiple newsletters
• Optimize subject lines, content structure, CTAs, layouts, and send strategy
• Develop and execute retention and re-engagement initiatives
• Monitor and improve open rates, CTR, active subscriber rates, and overall engagement
• Analyze competitor newsletters and continuously identify opportunities to outperform them
• Treat every send as a performance event and use insights to improve future results

Deliverability & Infrastructure

• Own inbox placement, sender reputation, and domain health
• Monitor ISP-specific performance across Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, and other providers
• Manage authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
• Build and maintain warm-up, reputation management, and list hygiene processes
• Investigate and resolve deliverability issues before they impact performance
• Ensure cold email infrastructure remains fully separated from newsletter operations when applicable

Monetization

• Work closely with monetization teams to maximize newsletter revenue
• Optimize ad placements and sponsored content performance
• Track and improve revenue per send and revenue per subscriber
• Balance monetization goals with long-term audience trust and engagement

Operations & Quality

• Manage publishing schedules across multiple newsletters
• Review and QA all outgoing campaigns
• Build scalable workflows, SOPs, and quality standards
• Leverage AI tools to improve productivity, analysis, and content workflows
• Collaborate closely with writers, designers, and marketing stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

Must Have

• Strong experience managing multiple newsletters, email programs, or subscriber-based products
• Proven success improving engagement, retention, and newsletter growth
• Hands-on deliverability expertise, including sender reputation, authentication, inbox placement, and ISP-level monitoring
• Experience working with large subscriber databases and high-volume email programs
• Strong analytical mindset and comfort working with performance metrics
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality
• Strong ownership mentality and proactive approach to problem-solving
• Excellent English communication skills (C1+)

Nice to Have

• Experience with Beehiiv, Substack, Ghost, or similar newsletter platforms
• Experience with affiliate marketing, sponsorships, or newsletter monetization
• Experience with cold email infrastructure
• Experience using AI tools in operational workflows
• Background in digital publishing, media, or content-led growth
