We are looking for a Content Supervisor (Writers Editor) who can take full ownership of editorial quality across our multi-account newsletter network. This role requires a strong editorial mind, confident decision-making, and the ability to shape content that truly resonates with U.S. readers—especially within finance, business, tech, and general-interest niches.
The ideal candidate is not just a proofreader, but a content strategist, mentor, and quality guardian who understands the psychology of readers and can elevate any piece of writing to a premium editorial standard.
Key Responsibilities
Editorial Quality & Strategy
- Oversee and approve all content before publication.
- Edit for clarity, structure, tone, and emotional impact—not only grammar.
- Ensure every text fits U.S. audience expectations (especially 35–65+).
- Maintain consistent style and storytelling quality across multiple newsletters.
Tone of Voice & Brand Alignment
- Shape and refine tone of voice even without rigid guidelines.
- Help define brand identity through editorial decisions.
- Ensure content builds trust, credibility, and engagement.
Reader-Centric Thinking
- Evaluate content through the eyes of a U.S. reader.
- Understand what drives open rates, CTR, and long-term retention.
- Provide insights on what resonates and proactively adjust content direction.
Writer Management & Coaching
- Guide writers and freelancers to improve their craft.
- Give clear, actionable, high-quality editorial feedback.
- Maintain consistency and identify individual strengths/weaknesses.
AI-Assisted Workflows
- Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to enhance drafts.
- Teach writers to use AI effectively without losing authenticity.
Process Optimization
- Improve editorial workflows to balance speed and quality.
- Collaborate with account managers to align content with strategic goals.
Must-Have Requirements
- Proven management experience (leading writers, editors, or newsroom teams).
- Hands-on experience with U.S. audiences — understanding reading habits, tone expectations, cultural nuance.
- Background in journalism, news writing, or professional editorial work (not SEO-content, not blog fluff).
- Strong confidence and editorial authority — ability to defend ideas and set quality standards.
- A deep content sense — seeing texts not as words on a page, but as communication tools that shape trust, emotion, and behavior.
- 5+ years in content editing/proofreading/editorial roles.
- Excellent command of English grammar, pacing, tone, and structure.
- Experience with AI content tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Jasper, etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple writers and operate in a fast-paced daily publishing environment.
- Understanding of FK score and readability levels for U.S. markets.
