Lead Python Engineer

We are seeking a Lead Python Engineer to join the AI Acceleration group, where you will lead a supplier team focused on building and enhancing AI agents and agentic capabilities. This role supports BI’s transition to AI Native teams by driving innovation in automation platforms, agentic systems and quality engineering frameworks.

Please note that remote work is available only for candidates based in Ukraine.

Responsibilities

• Lead a supplier team within the AI Acceleration group, focusing on building and enhancing AI agents and agentic capabilities to support BI’s transition to AI Native teams
• Analysis, leverage and improvement of existing AI agents, tools and the customer’s frameworks, ensuring alignment with BI and Enterprise needs
• Drive the enhancement of the SAGE (Smart Augmented Quality Engineering) platform, including tuning test-generation and self-healing agents, and development of new agents (e.g., Contract testing agents)
• Automation of high-impact engineering workflows by integrating existing or newly developed AI agents (such as Agile and QE agents)
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams (BI, Enterprise, QE, Agile) to identify automation opportunities and deliver scalable AI solutions
• Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning and high performance
• Ensure best practices in AI engineering, quality assurance and agile methodologies are followed throughout the project lifecycle
• Communicate progress, challenges and solutions to stakeholders, providing technical leadership and strategic direction
• Ownership of the architecture and technical direction of AI/agentic systems, ensuring scalability, reliability and maintainability
• Definition and enforcement of best practices for agent design, orchestration and evaluation

Requirements

• 7+ years of overall engineering experience with 2+ years in a leading role
• Proven experience leading teams in AI/ML engineering projects, preferably in agentic systems or automation platforms
• Hands-on expertise in AI agent development, tuning and integration (Python, ML frameworks, agentic architectures)
• Deep understanding of quality engineering, test automation and self-healing systems
• Background in Agile methodologies and transitioning teams to AI Native practices
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and mentoring skills
• Capability to analyze complex workflows and identify automation opportunities
• English level B2+
