I worked at EPAM and had the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and work on large-scale projects with talented colleagues. The company offers excellent learning resources, certification opportunities, and access to cutting-edge technologies, which were instrumental in building my career as a young specialist.
However, my experience also highlighted significant challenges. The demanding workload, high expectations, and intense pace contributed to a high level of stress. Unfortunately, this led to burnout and serious health issues, including carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands and cubital syndrome in my left hand, which I developed by the age of 24.
While EPAM provides tools for professional growth, I feel the company needs to prioritize employee well-being more effectively. This could include:
Promoting better work-life balance and realistic workloads.
Offering ergonomic assessments and training for employees to prevent repetitive strain injuries.
Encouraging regular breaks and physical activity during long working hours.
Fostering a supportive culture where employees feel safe to raise concerns about health and workload.
I believe EPAM has the resources and capacity to lead by example in employee care, and I hope future initiatives address these concerns to create a healthier, more sustainable environment for its talented workforce.
