As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be a cornerstone of our product development, architecting and building the intelligent, secure, and scalable services that power this vision.

You will work at the intersection of modern .NET development, cloud services, and applied AI, solving complex challenges in a HIPAA-compliant environment. This is a unique opportunity to shape a greenfield product and have a significant impact on the future of dental technology.

Our Tech Stack

• Backend: .NET 8, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core
• Database: Azure SQL Server
• AI/ML: Azure OpenAI (GPT-4), Azure AI Speech (Whisper)
• Cloud/DevOps: Azure, GitHub Actions etc

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development
• Strong hands-on experience with C# and ASP.NET Core
• Strong SQL Skills: Deep knowledge of SQL Server, including complex querying, performance optimization, and robust schema design.
• AI Integration Experience: Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML models into applications.
• Direct experience with prompt engineering using Azure OpenAI, language models (GPT), and NLP concepts is a major plus.
• Security-First Mindset: A strong understanding of security principles and experience building systems that handle sensitive data.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is highly desirable.
• Problem-Solving & Ownership: A proactive and pragmatic approach to solving complex technical challenges, with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
• English — Upper-Intermediate (speaking and writing) and fluency Ukrainian.

What You’ll Do

• Architect & Build: Design, develop, and own the core backend services and Web APIs using .NET, C#, and Azure. You’ll build the engine that drives our real-time conversational AI and secure EHR integrations.
• Lead AI Integration: Implement and optimize the end-to-end AI workflow, from speech-to-text processing with Azure AI Speech/Whisper to sophisticated NLP tasks like intent extraction and summarization using Azure OpenAI.
• Security & Compliance: Engineer a robust, HIPAA-compliant platform. You will implement best practices for data security, including role-based access control (RBAC), data minimization, and secure API design.
• Own the Full Lifecycle: Take features from concept to deployment. You will write clean, testable code, contribute to our CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, and ensure the performance and resilience of our systems in production.
• Integrate & Collaborate: Work closely with front-end developers and product managers to deliver seamless user experiences. You will also integrate essential third-party services for communications (Twilio) and email (Postmark).
