Senior Java Engineer (Audience Segmentation)

We are looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join the Segmentation & Audience Platform project full-time. We are building a real-time Audience Segmentation & Engagement Platform that powers communications, personalization, automation, reporting, and customer engagement across the entire ecosystem.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Design and implement core components of the audience segmentation platform
• Design and evolve a flexible segment definition language supporting complex rules and targeting scenarios
• Build a scalable segment evaluation engine for processing large-scale entity and relationship data
• Support complex nested logical expressions, filtering criteria, and rule evaluation workflows
• Implement relationship-based audience resolution across multiple entity types and organizational hierarchies
• Design and optimize incremental segment recomputation to efficiently process continuous data changes
• Build event-driven audience update and hydration pipelines for near real-time segment accuracy
• Implement segment versioning, governance, auditability, and full lifecycle traceability
• Design low-latency audience resolution services operating at high scale
• Develop materialization and caching strategies for dynamic segments and audience snapshots
• Optimize query execution, system performance, scalability, and operational efficiency
• Design and evolve APIs for audience creation, management, and retrieval
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define platform capabilities and architecture
• Ensure reliability, observability, maintainability, and operational excellence of the platform
• Contribute to architectural decisions and provide technical leadership within the team

What we expect from you:

• At least 5 years of backend engineering experience
• Strong Java development expertise
• Experience building distributed systems
• Experience designing query engines, search platforms, rules engines, segmentation platforms, or analytics systems
• Strong understanding of data modeling and domain-driven design principles
• Experience with event-driven architectures
• Experience designing scalable APIs and backend services
• Strong problem-solving and performance optimization skills
• Experience working with cloud-native architectures
• Ability to drive technical decisions and contribute to system architecture
• Upper-Intermediate+ English level

Will be a plus:

• Experience with recommendation engines
• Experience with Quarkus
• Experience building Customer Data Platforms (CDP)
• Experience with marketing automation systems
• Experience with audience segmentation or personalization platforms
• Experience with graph-based data models and relationship traversal
• Experience with search technologies such as Elasticsearch or OpenSearch
• Experience with stream processing technologies
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with large-scale analytics systems
