About the Project:
The customer is a prominent company in the security solutions sector, specializing in integrated security systems for various industries, including airports, hospitals, and manufacturing. They have a strong presence in Germany and are known for their innovative approach to physical security and access control.
We are currently engaged in a comprehensive re-architecture of our edge integrations, utilizing the EdgeX Foundry framework. This effort is designed to significantly improve our ability to quickly and seamlessly integrate with a wide range of IoT hardware devices. By optimizing both southbound and northbound data flows, we are building a more agile and responsive edge environment.
Responsibilities:
- Architectural Design: Develop comprehensive architectural solutions for near-edge integration scenarios, leveraging EdgeX Foundry’s capabilities.
- Documentation: Create and maintain high-quality architectural documentation following arc42 principles, ensuring clarity, consistency, and traceability.
- Modeling: Utilize UML (Unified Modeling Language) to effectively communicate architectural designs, system interactions, and data flows.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and expertise to development teams during implementation, ensuring adherence to architectural standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, developers, and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve complex technical challenges related to edge deployments, connectivity, and data processing.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect, with a strong portfolio of successfully delivered projects.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with IoT and interest in EdgeX Foundry for IoT edge orchestration and integration.
- Proficiency in creating and maintaining architectural documentation using the arc42 framework.
- Strong command of UML for architectural modeling and system design.
- Demonstrable passion and understanding of the Internet of Things (IoT) domain, including protocols, devices, and common use cases.
- Excellent communication skills are key for this role, as you’ll be a central point for technical discussions and decision-making across various teams.

- An interest in or experience with access control domain concepts and technologies.
