About Project:

Our client’s project is an innovative startup event booking platform aimed at seamlessly connecting venue owners, service providers (such as private chefs and caterers), and event organizers. The platform is meticulously crafted to simplify the event planning journey, offering a comprehensive solution for all stakeholders involved. It has the ultimate goal of working to help solve problems of social isolation.

We’re seeking a mid-level Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic team. As part of the engineering team of our client, you’ll play an integral role in maintaining and enhancing their layered monolithic architecture, with a focus on preparing for future migration to a microservices architecture. Your responsibilities will include understanding and adhering to the client’s development principles while leveraging your expertise in Kotlin and web development to drive innovation and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate within a cross-functional team to design, develop, and maintain features within our layered monolithic architecture.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in Kotlin across both the frontend and backend components of the application.
• Implement and optimize database interactions to ensure data integrity and performance.
• Participate in code reviews to uphold coding standards and ensure quality deliverables.
• Work closely with product management to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices, applying them to enhance our development processes and solutions.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional experience in software development that has had a focus on Kotlin.
• Strong understanding of web development principles, including frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with backend frameworks and tools such as Spring Boot, Ktor, or similar.
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and proficiency in writing efficient SQL queries.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and effectively communicate with team members of varying technical backgrounds.
• High proficiency in English (minimum level B2).

Nice to have:

• Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks/libraries (e.g., React, Vue.js).
• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
