EKTOS is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Developer to join our engineering team.
The successful candidates will play a key role in the design, development, and integration
of real-time embedded firmware for industrial, automotive, and IoT-grade electronic
products. This position requires strong technical competence, leadership in embedded
software design, and familiarity with industry best practices and standards.
Experience
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in embedded software development for
microcontroller-based systems.
• Proven track record of full product lifecycle participation—from requirements definition to production release.
• Expertise in C and C++ (C++11 or newer) for embedded development.
• Strong understanding of real-time constraints, interrupt handling, and task
scheduling.
• Proficiency with firmware architecture design, state machines, and event-driven
applications.
• Experience developing bootloaders, firmware update mechanisms (including OTA),
and diagnostic modules.
• Familiarity with static analysis, code coverage, and traceability tools.
• Familiarity with hardware design concepts and reading of schematics.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and HIL environments.

• Design, implement, test, and maintain embedded firmware for microcontroller-based
systems.
• Develop both RTOS-based and bare-metal applications, ensuring reliable real-time
operation.
• Architect and document embedded software solutions in compliance with project
requirements and safety standards.
• Implement and optimize communication stacks (Ethernet, CAN, UART, SPI, I²C, etc.)
and protocol layers (TCP/IP, CANopen, J1939).
• Perform low-level hardware interfacing, driver development, and system bring-up.
• Conduct firmware verification through unit testing, code reviews, static analysis, and
hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Ensure compliance with MISRA-C/C++, ISO 26262, and IEC 61508 principles for
safety and quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, testing, and project management)
through all development stages.
• Contribute to requirements definition, design documentation, and configuration
management.
• Support production validation, debugging, and field issue analysis of embedded
systems.
