Senior Data Engineer (Report Development, Tableau) (вакансія неактивна)

Львів, Ряшів (Польща), віддалено

We’re looking for a Data Engineer to work with our Client — an international company that develops software solutions for small and mid-sized municipalities. The project focuses on a product suite that supports key local government operations, including finance, utility billing, HR, payroll, online payments, tax collection, and asset management. The platform also uses Tableau to transform complex government data into clear, interactive visual insights for better decision making.

Some data sources and workbooks perform poorly or time out, depending on the size of a Customer’s dataset. Several data sources join 12 to 15 tables with multiple child joins to satisfy a broad set of use cases, but individual users often need only a fraction of that data. The Customer wants to understand which use cases are actually being exercised, which are performing badly, and then optimize, split, or rebuild data sources and workbooks accordingly.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Tableau usage statistics to identify what is used, what performs poorly, and where the highest-impact fixes sit
  • Optimize existing data sources and workbooks, including splitting overloaded data sources into targeted ones
  • Build new data sources where optimization of existing assets is not sufficient
  • Work in tandem with the SQL Developer to decide whether a given performance problem is best solved in Tableau, in SQL, or in both
  • Bring recommendations to product, and be able to say clearly when a use case cannot be made performant without a specific trade-off

Requirements:

  • Deep Tableau expertise, with performance as the primary lens: extract strategy, caching, query pruning, data source design and view optimisation
  • Demonstrable experience building Tableau assets for multiple external audiences
  • Ability to build genuinely usable workbooks and dashboards
  • Ability to work independently and proactively rather than execute a fixed backlog
  • English level — Upper-Intermediate or higher

Will be a plus:

  • Crystal Reports experience (the Client uses a legacy Crystal Reports implementation for standard in-app reports)

We offer:

  • Remote-first work model with flexible working hours (we provide all equipment)
  • Comfortable and fully equipped offices in Lviv and Rzeszów
  • Competitive compensation with regular performance reviews
  • Referral Bonus Program
  • 18 paid vacation days per year
  • 12 days of paid sick leave per year
  • Extra paid leave (blood donation, marriage, childbirth, etc.)
  • Health & wellness support: either a monthly budget for medical insurance and sports activities, or a full medical insurance plan, depending on your cooperation model
  • Mental Health Program — company-covered psychologist consultations, with an annual coverage limit
  • English, German, and Polish language courses and Speaking Clubs
  • Corporate merch gifts for your special dates
  • Corporate subscription to learning platforms, regular meetups and webinars
  • Friendly team that values accountability, innovation, teamwork, and customer satisfaction
  • Maternity leave
  • Inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and treated equally. We proudly partner with VeteranHub to support Ukrainian veterans
  • We are committed to supporting Ukraine and actively participate in charity initiatives
