Just another decent review of unique “IT band” I’ve been enjoying for almost 2 years.
Every holiday season is the perfect time of being grateful and I’m more than grateful today for the opportunity to work side by side with these guys. And reasons are the following:
— 30+ people have been working here more than 10 years. Astonishing retention and loyalty.
— 20+ years in IT. In-depth expertise and versatile agility.
— Projects are different size, domain, purpose and complexity. Readiness to learn, invest and evolve in a natural way.
From my perspective I appreciate:
— Ability to work in R’n’D style. Awesome support from TOP management on astounding and sometimes quite off-gauge initiatives.
— Regular feedback of my work. Everyone’s enormously busy, but despite of that people stretch themselves to carve that time.
— Leadership encouragement. No need to have formal position, just be the true leader.
A few more words about challenges. There’s no need to write memoirs and make a big deal out of it. Every company has them, every projects experience them constantly, because this is how we grow. I reckon our greatest goal is to turn them into opportunities. And remember, in return you always get what you ask for.
