Data Architect (Azure/Databricks)
We’re looking for a Senior Data Architect for a long-term project with one of the world’s largest professional services networks (audit, consulting, tax & advisory, working with Fortune 500 companies).
Remote, long-term contract (1 year), hourly rate

- Location: Balkans preferred (Serbia, Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia), also considered — EU, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Moldova
- English level: C1
About the role:
The client is looking specifically for an Architect — someone with proven, hands-on experience designing and owning Azure data platform architecture. Data Engineers who have only implemented other people’s pipelines are not suitable for this position.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of recent (not “a few years ago”) hands-on experience with Azure: Azure SQL/SQL Server, Data Lake, ADF, Synapse, Databricks
- Proven track record of architecture decisions — ownership, not just execution
- Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, including star schema
- Experience with unstructured data and various file formats
- Python, SQL, Scala, ETL/ELT
- Ability to produce architecture documentation and diagrams
- Experience working independently with incomplete information
