Customertimes is looking for a Support Engineer to handle any issues that may occur and ensure the stability of systems in a continuous delivery environment. This role focuses on proactive problem-solving and rapid issue resolution.
Our client is a large international investment fund. The company seeks to produce high-quality predictive signals (alphas) through its proprietary research platform to employ financial strategies focused on exploiting market inefficiencies. Its teams work collaboratively to drive the production of alphas and financial strategies — the foundation of a sustainable, global investment platform.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering reliable and effective support for systems and users within a continuous delivery environment. This role involves identifying and resolving issues promptly, ensuring system stability, and collaborating with teams to maintain seamless operations.
An essential aspect of this position is the ability to read and analyze code to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.

Requirements:
- Python programming: Strong Python skills, with hands-on experience using libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and Celery to handle data manipulation, automation, and task scheduling;
- Database proficiency: Familiarity with MySQL for querying, managing, and optimizing relational databases;
- Unix-based systems: Comfortable working in Unix/Linux environments, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize system performance;
- Problem solving: A keen eye for detail, with the ability to dive deep into complex issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions effectively;
- Proactive automation: Experience in developing Python scripts or applications to automate tasks and streamline support processes;
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in IT, ideally in a technical support or systems engineering roles;
- Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of clearly explaining technical issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams;
- Fast-paced environment: Enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where problem-solving and adaptability are key.
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have):
- Monitoring tools: Familiarity with monitoring and telemetry tools to track system performance and detect potential issues.
Responsibilities:
User support & troubleshooting:
- Serve as the first line of support for internal users, responding to and resolving system issues efficiently;
- Reproduce problems, identify root causes, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement lasting solutions;
- Provide timely solutions to technical challenges that affect system performance or user experience.
Automation & tool development:
- Develop tools and scripts in Python to automate various system tasks, improving operational efficiency;
- Write Python applications to streamline repetitive processes and enhance support workflows;
- Implement telemetry and monitoring solutions to increase system visibility and proactively detect issues.
System optimization:
- Continuously assess system performance and identify opportunities to automate manual processes and reduce operational overhead;
- Contribute to improving the efficiency and reliability of the system through innovation and hands-on problem-solving.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with developers, product teams, and other engineers to resolve issues and deliver high-quality solutions;
- Contribute to ongoing system improvements by sharing insights from support incidents and system monitoring.
