Senior Software Engineer, Backend

We seek a Senior Backend Developer with advanced expertise in Node.js and TypeScript to join our Platform Foundation Team. You will play a key role in enhancing the user experience and building scalable solutions to support our growing platform.

While this role is backend-focused, you should be comfortable reading and understanding frontend code and be able to make minor UI changes and enhancements when needed. You’ll work closely with frontend developers to ensure seamless integration across the stack.

Location: Poland

Tech Stack: JavaScript / Typescript, Node.js, Lambda, EC2, React/JoyUI/MUI

In this role, you’ll get to:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs to support core platform functionality.
• Implement and maintain server-side logic using Node.js and TypeScript within AWS serverless/cloud-native environments.
• Ensure application performance, security, and scalability through thoughtful architecture and clean, testable code.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to define API contracts and assist with integration efforts.
• Understand and occasionally modify frontend code (React + JoyUI/MUI) to unblock development or fix minor UI issues.
• Contribute to system design decisions and participate in architectural discussions with a focus on maintainability and performance.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure backend code reliability.
• Conduct and participate in code reviews, offering and receiving constructive feedback.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for efficient development and deployment.
• Stay current with backend development best practices and industry trends, bringing innovative ideas to the team.

Who you are and what you’ll need for this position:

• 5+ years of backend development experience, with a strong command of Node.js and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with React and ability to make minor frontend changes as needed (e.g., component updates, styling tweaks).
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and backend systems in cloud-based environments.
• Proficiency with automated testing frameworks like Jest or similar for backend code.
• Experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, EC2) and cloud-based deployment strategies.
• Strong understanding of performance optimization, security best practices, and scalable system design.
• Experience working in agile teams using Git, sprint planning, and collaborative workflows.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a distributed and remote-first team.
