Project / Program Manager for Security Engineering Services (вакансія неактивна)

Київ, Львів

This position is open exclusively for Ukrainian residents within Ukraine (preferably Kyiv or Lviv).

We are looking for a Project / Program Manager to join our Security Engineering team, responsible for numerous cybersecurity projects in miltech and defence space. In this role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders, internal technical leaders, and engineering teams to ensure that mission-critical systems are efficiently protected, and projects are completed on time, within budget, and consistently deliver outstanding value to the customer.

Our security engineering projects are delivered as professional services and often evolve into multi-year, sophisticated joint operations with our customers. These services focus on security engineering activities aimed at assessing and improving the cybersecurity posture of software and hardware products, as well as organisational processes and practices.

The Project Manager, along with the Technical Project Lead, become two facilitators of this relationship, in which customers rely on us to provide peace of mind and a lower risk posture for their business.

Main responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with active military personnel on mission-critical projects within the Defence Program, and ensure that engineering teams, security teams and non-technical stakeholders have shared expectations, understand the timelines and their next steps.
  • Lead a Defence Program of interconnected initiatives, understand how technical, operational, strategic, and policy objectives influence one another, and take ownership of complex, high-impact decisions across multiple stakeholders.
  • Communicate and cooperate: set up communication rhythms and routines with customers and the teams, assist technical project leads with planning and prioritisation (both tasks and people involved), follow up, and chase customers on non-technical matters
  • Reporting: support the team in putting together reports, timesheets, artefacts, and updates for customers. Be ready to embrace different reporting styles for different customers
  • Build connections: identify opportunities for further cooperation, and prevent hazards

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in project management with IT projects (software / hardware platforms, web and mobile applications, etc)
  • Understanding of software development processes (SDLC), preferably secure SDLC
  • Upper-intermediate level of English, both written and spoken
  • Strong understanding of the modern technological landscape
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to figure out ways to move projects ahead in complete chaos
  • Excellent discipline and self-organisation skills
  • Strong leadership skills with highly specialised expert teams
  • Ability to make decisions and take responsibility for the consequences of your actions

Nice to have:

  • Military experience, or experience in working with miltech / defence projects is a significant additional factor to consider
  • Understanding of information security or cybersecurity, systems engineering, robotics, etc
  • Project management certification is a good additional factor to consider
  • A desire to minimise chances for chaos ahead of time
  • A desire to automate routine things and spend time on interesting things

Hiring process:

  • Resume review — up to 5 business days
  • Test task — estimated time 2-3 hours
  • Introductory meeting with Head of security engineering or Project manager
  • Technical interview with team members
  • Offer discussion

What’s in it for you?

  • Competitive compensation with a flexible and clear bonus scheme
  • Paid vacation — 21 business days per calendar year
  • Paid sick leaves
  • Hybrid work model: this position allows for a combination of in-office and remote work as needed
  • Combining technologies: hardware engineering, software engineering, cryptography, information security
  • You will work with people deeply interested in security engineering, you will learn a lot
  • Reasonable time budgets and an attitude to build things well — we prioritise building for decades, rather than just until the next release
  • Conferences, books, courses — we encourage learning and sharing with the community. Our team members share a a lot in talks, workshops, and blog posts
  • Public track record in the open-source aspect of our products.
