Junior Data Scientist (вакансія неактивна)

Competera uses Big Data and Deep Learning to change the way retailers do pricing. We are known for both cutting-edge math ‘under the hood’ and for deep expertise in the pricing domain. Currently, we are looking for a Junior Data Scientist for our Kyiv team to work with real client data and help us evolve into an even better solution.

The role implies being there to launch market tests for new clients and go through its whole lifecycle. In meanwhile you can become part of the research team. Here you will get your hands-on tasks with neural networks, cloud infrastructure, time series, and more. You will have a mentor who can guide you through the Competera Ninja Data Science path.

What you will do:
— Operational DS tasks (metrics, model tuning/retraining, dataset preparation, feature engineering) and working with existing clients’ models (BaU)
— Run PoCs under guidance for new clients
— (In the half-year perspective) switching to full-fledged R&D tasks in automated pricing domain (graph models, multitask learning, optimization etc.)

Starter-kit needed to join the board:
— Core Python 3
— SQL basics
— Solid math background (“computer science”-related education is preferred)
— Solid understanding of ML basics — overfitting, metrics, cross-validation, hyperparameter tuning, classification of ML tasks and models (classification, regression, clustering etc.)
— Scientific python toolkit — basics of numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, keras / tensorflow, jupyter notebooks
— English — Intermediate+

Very nice to have:
— Statistical inference experience, A/B testing
— Proven graduation from ML/AI MOOCs (Coursera etc.)
— Participation in ML competitions (Kaggle etc.)
— Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud preferably)
— Experience in working with and understanding of timeseries domain
