As our Senior Back End Engineer, you write clean code to add new features to our ever-evolving product. You also help us increase distribution leverage and improve product stickiness by building world-class integrations. Finally, you improve existing code and product performance by decreasing technical debt.

Is this you?
— 4+ years experience developing scalable backend with Ruby on Rails
— Experience in building RESTful services, working with message queues, and batch processing applications
— Experience with the AWS ecosystem
— Experience with relational databases
— Proactive attitude, problem solver. Willing to collaborate with others
— Proficient in English

Competencies
— You get excited about good quality code and engineering quests
— You have good knowledge about API Design and performance optimization
— You understand the trade-offs between technical, analytical, and product goals

Обязанности

What your future team looks like:
You work in the Product team, which is responsible for building and maintaining our SaaS product. The team currently consists of 5 full-time engineers and is led by our CTO. We have just secured funding to expand the team to a team of 10 by the end of this year. You will work closely with your fellow Senior and Middle Back End Engineers.
Besides the Product team, you work closely with colleagues from Customer Success. This team regularly interacts with users and gathers input to further improve our product. You will occasionally also work with technical peers from our integration partners.

Your main tasks:
— Be ready to release new functionality every two weeks
— Identifying technical debt sources, estimating the amount of added development time, and fixing part of it every release.
— Reduce the number of bugs reported. No critical bugs in a release that led to downtime.
— Build multiple API integrations

clevergig is currently mostly known as a scheduling and time tracking solution (Software as a Service, or SaaS) in the Netherlands. Our core users are temp and staffing agencies, and their workers. However, in the coming months, we wish to add more features and broaden our product offering. The goal is to become the growth hub for temp agencies.
