Responsibilities
- Lead and scale the global engineering team, fostering a culture of required quality, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Ensure product development deadlines are met.
- Create and continuously improve engineering processes, policies, procedures, and best practices in engineering methodologies.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness of engineering processes and outcomes. Continuously accelerate Time-to-Market.
- Ensure all stakeholders are informed about all the changes in timelines or scope.
- Manage engineering budgets, and forecast resource allocation to optimize productivity and efficiency. Make sure all the teams are staffed in time.
- Take an active part in the hiring process. Hire and Retain exceptional engineering talent.
- Serve as a technical and business mentor, providing guidance and leadership development to engineering managers and team leads.
- Provide 1:1, training, career growth, and professional development opportunities for the engineering team.
- Advocating on behalf of developers and engineering teams, giving everyone a voice, and acting in the best interest of others.
Previous experience
- Proven experience in successfully scaling the engineering department to 60+ Engineers.
- Track record of building and nurturing high-performing teams and developing leaders and individuals.
- A track record of building and scaling consumer-facing products.
- 7+ years of engineering management experience, with 9+ years of relevant software development industry experience (Software engineer role) in a fast-paced tech environment.
- Experience of acting as an interpreter between technical and business parts.
- Experience in implementing and tracking engineering KPIs. Experience in cross-teams performance evaluation.
- Good judgment in making tradeoffs to balance short-term business needs with long-term technical quality
- Familiarity with the tools and software used by engineers under their oversight.
- Experience in acting as the main point of contact for stakeholders (management expectation, conflict/escalation management, risk mitigation, problem-solving).
- English B2+.
