Ciklum is looking for a Senior Python Developer to join our team full-time in Ukraine.

About the role:

As a Senior Python Developer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. Together, we will work on the project building advanced AI-driven software solutions for digital transformation in the biopharmaceutical industry, focusing on highly scalable and distributed enterprise systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement complex backend features from conception through deployment, ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Write clean, secure, highly testable, scalable, and well-documented code that follows coding standards and best practices
• Perform comprehensive code reviews to ensure high code quality and share knowledge within the team
• Actively participate in multiple stages of the SDLC including planning, development, testing, and deployment
• Assist in maintaining and improving the team’s engineering and quality standards, and support adoption across the team
• Engage in technical interviewing and assessment of candidates

Requirements:

• Fluent or Upper-Intermediate English
• 5+ years of experience in Python software development
• Profound knowledge of Python frameworks such as FastAPI (a big plus) and Flask, with deep understanding of their internal architecture
• Practical commercial experience developing REST APIs for distributed systems (microservices, SOA)
• Experience with asyncio and related libraries (e.g., aiohttp, tornado)
• Strong understanding of OOP, SOLID, GRASP, architectural and design patterns, security principles, and code testing practices
• Understanding of network interactions, REST conventions, and authentication standards (OAuth 2.0, JWT)
• Deep experience with RDBMS systems, particularly PostgreSQL, including crafting high-performance queries and database design
• Practical experience with SQLAlchemy (sync and async modes, declarative and table-oriented syntax)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps is a plus)
• Experience deploying and managing applications in public cloud environments (Azure is a plus)
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes principles
• Advanced proficiency with unittest, pytest, mock, and other common testing tools
• Experience with troubleshooting, profiling, debugging, refactoring, and Agile software development processes
