About the role:

As an Application Architect, become a part of a cross-functional development team working for our Client.

The Architect is a technology expert who uses their experience and vision to set out the direction of product, solution and module designs undertaken by our Engineering teams. They ensure that the IP build-out for our Financial Services products meets our architecture principles and standards and also fits with our customers’ technology stacks and requirements.
The role of an Architect has a large amount of variety in terms of hands-on vs hands-off time, technologies, and product components & areas they’re involved in.
The Architect is driven and motivated to push the boundaries of our existing capabilities and has a proven record of solution architecture and project delivery as well as managing technological change.

Company is building the leading enterprise AI SaaS company for digital transformation across the most critical and resilient growth industries, including retail, consumer packaged goods, financial crime prevention, manufacturing, media, and IT service management. Since its founding in 2017, today it serves 1500+ Enterprise customers globally and has grown to 2,500 talented leaders, data scientists, and other professionals across over 20 countries.
The successful candidate will be part of the Architectural team, which is at the centre of the business’ financial crime prevention and compliance activity. The team architect, design and build new innovative solutions and the team’s development and quality assurance practices.

Responsibilities:

Demonstrating your solid expertise in the design and delivery of innovative solutions, you will join the Architectural team in a hands-on role responsible for the product architecture and the team’s development and quality assurance practices.

You will:

• Work with product owners, other architects and the development teams to define, refine and prioritize the product roadmap
• Take end responsibility of all aspects of the solutions:
  
  • Meet business requirements using an optimal technical design
  • Effective CI/CD processes
  • Security
  • Scalability and Performance
  • Resilience
  • Proper support for Managed services teams hosting the solutions
• Propose appropriate architectures (hardware sizing, deployment topologies)
• Perform risk analysis and technical assessments on incoming requirements and adequately respond
• Evaluate new technologies, define and implement proof of concepts and validate all aspects, document architectural decisions
• Provide input to, review and approve technical designs, Interface definitions and other documentation delivered by the development team
• Support the safeguarding of technology IP
• Together with other architects, keep a log of architectural decisions
• Review and improve processes within and across scrum teams

Requirements:

• 2 — 5 years of commercial Architectural experience
• Experience in designing and delivering cloud-native SaaS solutions
• Professional experience designing and building event-driven architectures
• Hands-on experience with SOA architectural style, specifically in microservices development
• Recognizing & articulating the benefits and drawbacks of different technologies, patterns, and approaches
• Hands-on experience in practising SOLID design principles and a good understanding of domain-driven design (DDD)
• Advocate of Agile methodologies (e.g. Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration)
• Working experience in a number of the following areas:

  • Containerization and Microservices
  • DevOps and Infrastructure as Code
  • Cloud Native Application Architecture
  • Modern web applications
  • Applications Security
• Experience with Cloud (Azure)
• Kubernetes technologies hands on experience
• Experience with CI/CD tools
• Ability to communicate effectively at senior levels within an organisation and with clients (English)
• Strategic thinker, ability to simplify and communicate complex concepts
• Ability to work on a broad spectrum of tasks concurrently
• Ability to work within a virtual environment supporting teams working in distributed locations
• Ability to translate the requirements for the dev team to pick up and implement
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent discipline

Desirable:

• Azure or other public clouds certifications
• Broad knowledge of the Financial Services markets
• Knowledge of designing a SaaS software that supports multi-tenancy
• Experience in building AI/ML applications
• Functional programming experience
• Enterprise-grade experience with building Node.js applications
• Agile development methodologies — Scrum, Kanban
• Data processing technologies — Kafka, Spark
• Proficiency in Typescript and Node.js
• Experience with React.js framework
• GraphQL experience
• Experience with Nest.js framework
• Databases — Oracle, PostgreSQL, NoSQL
• Fluency in several programming languages such as Java, Python, Scala, Golang
• Search engines: OpenSearch/ElasticSearch, Lucene
• Tools — Docker, Jenkins
• Test Driven Development — Spock, Cucumber, REST Assured, Jest
