We are looking for an engineer with significant Ruby on Rails experience to take a Senior / leading role in our team at Universum, building a modern data presentation platform.
We’re looking for an EU-based candidate (you must be currently living within the EU, regardless of nationality).
Universum is a Swedish tech company developing tools that enable millions of students and young professionals to reflect upon their career path, to express their expectations towards employers, and to connect with the ones who match them best. At the same time, we build instruments for data processing, presentation, analytics, and reporting. Our platform is used by the world’s largest companies to understand the ever-changing career preferences and ambitions of their current and future employees.
You will join a small, cross-functional team of driven engineers, building a data presentation SaaS with RoR on the server side, React on the front-end, and various AWS services to power the infrastructure.
The team is looking for a senior person to join them — one to take a fresh look on the problem domain, to reflect upon the existing solution, to suggest improvements, and to lead the team (by hands-on example) towards the realisation.
— English proficiency (effortless verbal and written communication)
— 3+ years of development experience with Ruby on Rails
— Strong knowledge of APIs and data transfer approaches
— Understanding of data analytics
— Experience as a team lead
— Experience with AWS
— Experience with React (for communication with FE devs)
— Experience with building web interfaces for data presentation / visualisation
The team consists of a product owner, a designer, and 5 engineers — two focused on the back-end, two on the front-end, and one QAA. The team is supported by a separate DevOps team and collaborates with other cross-functional teams who are building other parts of the product ecosystem (providing the data sources).
