BUILDCHECK™—a dynamic, venture-backed Stanford University startup—is looking for a talented Machine Learning Engineer to drive innovation in the construction technology space. We’re on a bold mission: revolutionizing construction workflows by building the industry’s first AI-powered “spell-checker” for construction blueprints. Our solution helps architects, developers, and contractors detect costly errors before they become expensive problems.

Your responsibilities:

• Lead ML pipeline orchestration for scalable CV and LLM deployments.
• Implement efficient deployment strategies using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, Docker, MLFlow.
• Develop automated CI/CD pipelines for ML model lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to integrate ML services into production systems.
• Optimize inference services for performance and cost. Maintain monitoring, logging, alerting solutions for production reliability.
• Stay updated on ML ops best practices and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps and ML infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience deploying ML pipelines in AWS cloud.
• Proficiency with MLFlow or similar lifecycle management tools.
• Proficiency in Python, shell scripting, cloud automation.
• Excellent analytical and collaborative skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform).
• Knowledge of scalable vector database deployments (Pinecone, OpenSearch).
• Experience building ML-specific monitoring and observability solutions.

Our work is guided by an exceptional advisory board comprising research directors and Nobel laureates from Stanford, MILA, ServiceNow, and DeepMind, providing strategic insight and domain expertise as we tackle complex challenges.
