We are currently looking for an experienced engineer with a passion for future technologies to join our innovative and fast-paced DevOps & Networking Team.
With an extensive technology stack deployed into a global private cloud estate, joining the team would mean you would have unique challenges to tackle on a day-to-day basis from managing complex big data systems, creating/improving CI/CD pipelines for deploying and configuring infrastructure and applications. We work closely with the Engineering and Data teams to ensure that they are fully supported to allow for the fast delivery of new features into our platform which processes millions of requests per second while maintaining a 99.999% uptime.
We are looking for a highly motivated team player who will bring new skills and experiences and wants to be a part of a talented team midway through our DevOps transformation journey. We are looking for someone who is passionate about DevOps, technology, and solving problems that you will not face in the public cloud. You must be able to work independently on projects from start to finish and deliver on time, developing the required professional and technical skills to complete projects as they come up.
You would also take the lead on our use of VMWare and running virtualized workloads in our data centers and work to continuously improve the overall configuration of our clusters.
You would be required to participate in a weekly on-call schedule where you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving incidents that occur during and outside business hours.

Requirements:

• Must be able to script/code to a good standard preferably using Python and Bash and have experience peer reviewing code changes.
• Strong and in-depth knowledge of VMWare and running low latency workloads in virtualized environments in production.
• Strong and in-depth knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, including writing Dockerfile’s and K8 manifests and designing, configuring, and deploying complete solutions in production.
• Experience with at least 1 configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, PowerShell DSC in both physical and virtual environments.
• Experience with writing and deploying Infrastructure as Code using Terraform with a strong understanding of the different components of Terraform and using it to achieve multi-environmental deployments. Experience using the VMWare provider is preferable.
• Designing and Implementing CI/CD pipelines using tooling such as Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub Actions, TeamCity.
• Experience with provisioning and managing database technologies in production including MySql, NoSql, ELK
• Experience working with Big Data technologies including Hadoop (HDFS), Druid, Cassandra, Spark.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals in both physical and virtual deployments.
• Be able to produce and communicate technical documentation, preferably using tools such as Confluence.
• Strong knowledge of Git and designing Git flows and integrating these with the CI process.
• Experience working with technologies such as PXE provisioners and integrating those into configuration management automation.
• Knowledge of ITIL service management
