Project description

Our client is the largest retail group in the Netherlands which owns and operates building materials stores across the Benelux (7 000 employees/341 offline stores/150 000+ products online/around 7 mln active users per month)

Our Kyiv-based SAP Commerce team is working on the improvement and upgrade of the platform

Focus areas:

  • system upgrade from 6.6 to 18.11 version
  • phaze out of legacy
  • migration on SAP Commerce Cloud

Tech stack: Hybris 6.6, SAP Commerce 18.11, OCC extension

Infrastructure: AWS, Ansible

CI/CD: Bamboo, Bitbucket, LaunchDarkly


Who we are looking for

We’re looking to hire an SAP Commerce Engineer to join the Commerce Core Team, which is part of the big Ukrainian-Netherlands-Belgium Digital team of Maxeda DIY (also known as Praxis & Brico stores). Our ideal candidate should have a strong software engineering background with deep expertise in SAP Commerce (Hybris) platform



  • Strong software engineering theoretical knowledge (solid knowledge of multi-layered distributed software architecture, OOP, Design Patterns, etc.)
  • Experience with SAP Commerce (Hybris) platform on more than 2 commercial projects
  • 3+ years of commercial Java programming experience
  • Strong understanding of Spring framework
  • Experience working on complex functional software projects that require a deep understanding of the application logic and dependencies
  • A strong intermediate English proficiency with good communication skills

As a plus:

  • Experience with SQL databases
  • Hands-on experience with Atlassian services (Bamboo, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence)
  • Practical experience with infrastructure (Web servers, cloud services, UNIX/Linux command line)

  • Actively contribute to team meetings and discussions, architectural design sessions, product meetings, communities of practice, etc.
  • Create an architectural design to illustrate high-level solutions to an application and feature requests
  • Design and deliver business logic around user stories worthy of enterprise delight
  • Deliver high-quality, testable, and maintainable code as well as review code written by others
  • Phaze out legacy services, improve codebase quality and delivery approach using best practices
  • Deploy applications on AWS servers using automation
  • Convert insights into future improvements
