Middle Python Engineer (part-time) (вакансія неактивна)

We are looking for a Python Engineer to help our client maintain, stabilize, and incrementally improve existing web applications and internal systems.

If you enjoy working with established systems, keeping things stable, reliable, and well-documented — this role is for you. You’ll focus on maintaining and improving production-ready solutions rather than building everything from scratch.

Our client operates and maintains several web platforms and internal tools that support both internal teams and external users. In this role, your work will directly impact the stability and smooth operation of business-critical systems used daily across the organization.

What you’ll do in this role

• Maintain and support existing Python/Django-based web applications
• Work with Django CMS or similar CMS-driven solutions
• Implement small enhancements, fixes, and updates to existing functionality
• Ensure stability, performance, and reliability of production systems
• Support hosting, domains, and basic infrastructure-related tasks
• Administer and support Google Workspace (users, access, configurations)
• Maintain and update Google Scripts and simple automations
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and propose pragmatic solutions
• Contribute to system documentation and knowledge transfer
• Communicate clearly about system state, risks, and upcoming changes

We’re looking for

Background & experience

• Commercial experience with Python and Django
• Hands-on experience maintaining and supporting existing production systems
  
  

Technical skills

• Solid understanding of web application architecture
• Experience with RESTful services
• Experience working with databases (PostgreSQL or similar)
• Basic understanding of hosting and deployment environments
• Experience with Git or other version control systems
  
  

Mindset & ambition

• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Pragmatic approach focused on reliability over over-engineering
• Ability to manage low-urgency, planned work effectively
• Willingness to document systems and share knowledge

How to knock our socks off

• Experience with Django CMS
• Experience administering Google Workspace
• Experience writing or maintaining Google Apps Scripts
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or similar)
• Basic DevOps knowledge (CI/CD, monitoring, backups)
• Experience working in non-profit or cost-conscious environments
• Naming five or more dishes that include beetroot besides borshch 😉
