Defence Tech Delivery Lead

We’re looking for a Head of DefenceTech locally in Kyiv or Lviv to help Beetroot boost our presence and network within Ukraine’s defense tech ecosystem.

You come from the DefenceTech industry and understand how it really works. You possess in-depth knowledge of the Ukrainian Defence sector, particularly its technical aspects, and a robust network that connects you to the military community. You see how DefenceTech can link local innovation with international needs and collaboration.

You’re familiar with the daily operations of Ukrainian DefenceTech companies — working with developers, matching projects to user requirements, and coordinating real-world testing. You know how to get things built, tested, and delivered where they matter.

What you’ll do in this role

• Serve as a technical advisor on DefenceTech projects, focusing on testing, evaluation, and practical implementation.
• You will team up with our partners at Varangians as “the tech expert”, helping to solve international client problems, including coordinating field/polygon testing, as well as customer-facing technical discussions.
• Act as the connector across the DefenceTech ecosystem — building and maintaining contacts for testing, collaboration, and information sharing.
• Attend and represent us at DefenceTech events and conferences in Ukraine.
• Collaborate with the internal team to develop and refine our offering, identifying what’s scalable, how to price it effectively, and how to make it sustainable.

We’re looking for

• Technical background in one or more areas commonly used in Ukrainian DefenceTech (e.g., robotics, embedded systems, or communications).
• Experience in the DefenceTech market with existing military connections and understanding of its language and workflows.
• Strong practical communication skills and good spoken English for working with international teams.

How to knock our socks off

• Business development experience in building and packaging scalable technical offerings with commercial potential.
• Hands-on software development background in robotics software or embedded systems development.
• And yes, naming five dishes that include beetroot besides borshch!
