Attitude Calculation & Orientation Estimation Engineer (Project-Based)
Focus: Estimating satellite attitude and movement from camera images
Overview
We are looking for a specialist who can help us compute a satellite’s orientation, attitude changes, and movement using camera images and known satellite position.
This is a project-based role, open to candidates from a wide range of backgrounds, including early-career engineers, graduate students, researchers, or experienced professionals wishing to contribute.
The work focuses on mathematical and geometric attitude estimation, not full satellite ADCS hardware design. You will help develop a practical method to estimate orientation using visual inputs, vector geometry, and reference data.

Key Responsibilities
Estimate attitude and orientation of a satellite using camera images, Earth/horizon geometry, or visible features.


Compute rotation matrices, Euler angles, and quaternion-based changes over time.


Use known satellite orbital/positional data to improve attitude estimates.


Analyze images to extract basic geometric information needed for orientation estimation.


Implement simple Python-based scripts to demonstrate the calculations.


Document methodology clearly, including formulas, assumptions, and step-by-step reasoning.


Collaborate with our team to integrate your calculations into our internal pipeline.

Ability to analyze problems independently and explain reasoning clearly
