We’re looking for an experienced and adaptable NoSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in the Investment Banking industry. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, is eager to continuously learn new technologies, and enjoys tackling the challenges of large-scale, distributed systems.

As our data infrastructure evolves, you’ll play a key role in administering, scaling, and optimizing our NoSQL databases and supporting platforms. You’ll help us deliver high-performing, resilient, and secure data systems that power critical business operations. You’ll be working as part of a cross-disciplinary team that maintains and extends a distributed backend financial application.

This is you

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience with Elasticsearch and MongoDB administration.
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments, especially Kubernetes (AKS preferred).
• Proficiency in scripting for automation using Bash, Python, or Go.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Understanding of HA (High Availability), failover, and disaster recovery in distributed environments.
• A mindset of continuous learning and adaptability to evolving tech stacks and business needs.
• Proven experience working with architects, developers, product owners and platform engineers.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

Nice-to-have skills:

• Experience administering Apache Pulsar or a similar data streaming platform like Kafka.
• Broad knowledge of distributed databases and modern data platforms in the public cloud.
• Awareness of compliance frameworks (SOC2, etc.) and best practices for secure infrastructure.

This is your role

• Administer, scale, tune, and troubleshoot Elasticsearch and MongoDB deployments.
• Support Apache Pulsar clusters — or bring equivalent experience in systems like Kafka.
• Design and optimize indexing, sharding, and replication strategies to improve performance, availability, and scalability.
• Set up monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to track database performance and reliability.
• Analyze storage trends, forecast capacity needs, and implement optimization strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Maintain high availability and disaster recovery strategies, including automated backup and failover solutions.
• Secure data platforms with role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and audit logging — SOC2 experience is a plus.
• Stay informed on trends in distributed databases, data streaming, and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Evaluate and compare modern data technologies to support technical decision-making.
