Our client is a leading tech company specializing in data-driven solutions for digital advertising and AI analytics. They provide scalable, high-performance data platforms for real-time decision-making, leveraging AI and machine learning to optimize marketing strategies.

They seek an experienced Automation QA Engineer to test high-volume data processing systems, ensure AI-driven solution reliability, and enhance automation frameworks.

The role focuses on automation but also requires some manual testing, specializing in Data/AI/ML, with the expectation to work in the client’s time zone at least until 2 PM PT (Pacific Time).

This is you

• 7–8+ years of experience as a Senior or Staff QA Engineer / SDET in complex, data-driven environments.
• Ready to work in the client’s time zone at least until 2 PM PT (Pacific Time) — required.
• Strong programming and test automation skills in Python and SQL.
• Deep expertise in testing data-intensive systems, data pipelines, and AI/ML models.
• Hands-on experience with databases such as Postgres and data warehouses like Snowflake.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proven ability to lead QA initiatives and mentor junior engineers.
• Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams including Data Engineering, ML, and Product.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD processes and test automation tools.
• Knowledge of AI fairness, explainability, bias detection, and model validation techniques.
• Experience with version control systems such as GitHub or GitLab.

Nice-to-have skills:

• Experience with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau.
• Background in AdTech, FinTech, or other large-scale data domains.
• Understanding of best practices in test environment setup and test data management.

This is your role

• Lead QA efforts across AI/ML-based products and enterprise data platforms.
• Design, build, and maintain robust test automation frameworks using Python and SQL.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for ML models to ensure accuracy, stability, fairness, and explainability.
• Validate ETL processes and data pipelines across systems like Postgres and Snowflake.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, ML Engineers, and Product Managers to define and monitor quality metrics.
• Conduct functional, integration, and performance testing of large-scale data systems.
• Identify, report, and track issues, working closely with engineering teams to resolve them.
• Establish QA best practices for automation, CI/CD integration, and data quality management.
• Mentor and support junior QA engineers, promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
