At least two years of professional experience as a technical writer
Extremely strong writing skills, scrupulous editing and revision skills, laser-like attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture
Ability to convert technical information into easily understood content and express complex technical concepts in easy terms
Ability to create and process illustrations (knowledge of screen capturing and processing tools)
Ability to create clear, concise, well-structured and relevant user information
Ability to work on multiple complex projects and manage multiple priorities
Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
Ability to learn quickly and grasp large volumes of complicated and abstract technology information, personally validate technical information
Ability to harvest information from subject matter experts and cross-function teams via high-level communication and interview skills

Ability to work with little or no supervision, manage own time scales and use own initiative to ensure accuracy and consistency of all documentation produced

Knowledge of Microsoft, Apple, Chicago, and other style manuals

Experience with help authoring and publishing tools

Create help documentation, training courses, and related materials for end-users and customer support managers
Evaluate, maintain, and update existing documentation for continuous improvement and enhancement of its quality
Organize, conduct, and manage fact-finding interviews with subject matter experts and reviews of technical documentation by SMEs.
Collaborate and work closely with Analysis, Development, QA, Support, and Management to identify and document product features and user scenarios.
Estimate documentation development effort and communicate the status of documentation tasks in progress to ensure timely delivery
Proof-read and run quality checks for content, format, design, and style of your own deliverables before sending them for reviews
Ensure consistent use of terms, styles and other documentation standards within new and existing documents.
Interpret functional and technical specifications and requirements to produce end-user documentation
Research product features, configurations, and settings to obtain in-depth knowledge of software products and understand the functionalities
Validate all of the technical descriptions and instructions in the documentation through hands-on testing of the software products
Review the application UI for grammar, user-friendliness, and overall consistency to ensure accuracy of documentation and improve product quality and usability
