Our US client has a need for a cloud systems engineer to support a growing number of European clientele. This position would be working on a private cloud that is part of the platform that they make.
The second part is true engineering where they would be building out an environment specifically for a client, in which case our engineer would be involved in the project plan and design.
Professional (Hard) Skills:
— Bachelor’s degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field OR equivalent experience in a technical position.
— 2+ years of commercial experience with server hardware installation and server configuration in data center environments.
— AWS experience
— Basic Linux, Windows, Mac & networking knowledge.
— Problem-solving abilities for recognizing technical issues and developing appropriate solutions.
— Strong documentation skills.
— Some on-call availability is a must.
— English: at least Intermediate (spoken).
Responsibilities:
— Deployment and configuration of platform infrastructure using Linux, Windows, and Mac environments.
— Troubleshoot technical issues to resolve installation, configuration, and runtime issues.
— Work with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve deployment and infrastructure-related software and network issues.
— Work with internal PMs to install, configure, and troubleshoot servers, network equipment, and data center infrastructure at 3rd party locations.
— Maintain and create documentation for new infrastructure deployments.
— Streamline deployments to increase efficiency and reduce deployment times.
— Support internal teams in resolving infrastructure issues.
— Support the development, testing and integration of new software and cloud services into the platform.
— Answer and work with client issues reported through specific channels.
