About the Role

Resource Managers (RMs) assist Portfolio Managers with human resources planning and staff allocation. They determine a company’s capacity to meet the staffing requirement of projects, assign personnel to projects, and hire new employees. They may also contribute by managing the payrolls and training staff independently or delegate this function to the Portfolio Managers for long-term assignments. Resource managers assign staff to projects. They assist project managers with allocating personnel to projects, monitor the utilization of employees assigned to projects, etc. They also coordinate resource management with other departments. RM is a results-driven manager to assigns staff to our projects (including the bench). RM determines personnel (staff) requirements, provides ongoing support to project managers, and collaborates on resource management with multiple teams within our organization. To ensure success as resource managers, the ideal person will be comfortable in the fast pace of an early-stage start-up. The Resource Manager is always looking to improve our approach to resource planning, improve our model through influence and education, work with team members across the organization to set up the practice, and support ongoing management. Resource Managers can determine what will work best and adopt an allocation-based model based on project estimation. You will report to the Chief Delivery Officer.

Key daily areas of activity are:

  • RMs should possess extensive knowledge of resource allocation and ideally have experience in a similar industry.
  • A first-class resource manager will be someone who can accurately assess resource needs and provide sufficient capacity to realize projects’ goals.
  • The Resource Manager is responsible for accurate forecasting, proactive utilization, and career development for the Altamira practice.
  • Our Resource Manager works closely with an HR Team and is an integral partner with the Portfolio Managers in managing all training activities (public, private, and virtual).
  • Working as a Resource Manager, you will manage all aspects of resourcing within the Delivery organization to achieve the business goals while balancing client requirements.
  • You’ll work with the Portfolio Managers and other leaders within the organization to ensure projects are appropriately staffed. This includes but is not limited to: o the strategic allocation of resources, o effective communication across the delivery team, o, and proper planning and maintenance to maximize utilization
  • Bench Management, including but not limited to: o Bench size and Cost o Development of people at the bench o Hire and dismissal of people on the bench o Efficient use of bench o Etc
  • Financial Management: o Payroll management based on consultation and advice from the Head of Delivery, Team Leads, Portfolio Managers for the people at the bench

Specific Areas of Responsibility

Working as an individual contributor, the Resource Manager will be responsible for a region and/or practice area, serving as a strategic partner to assist the Delivery organization in achieving our goals/objectives. You will be able to strike a balance between keeping our engineers satisfied while also achieving the allocation and utilization goals of the organization. You will uphold and advise on resource management processes, tools, and techniques and manage change as needed. You will identify resource capacity, identify mitigation strategies for resource gaps/ surplus, and identify areas to build talent for current and future needs. You will be responsible for reviewing, approving, and/or denying resource allocations for specific project work, coordinating resource availability, and scheduling amongst a shared resource pool. Additionally, you will assist the Delivery Governance in defining performance assessment models to measure the functioning of the Resource Management group

  • Engaging talent on their career and developmental needs
  • Analyzing and translating workforce data into talent insights to aid in data-driven decision making on talent Engaging various stakeholders (HR, Delivery, Delivery Governance, Solution Group) to review and improve competency frameworks and assessment procedures
  • Participating in and/or leading internal projects focused on continuous improvement connected to his/her area of expertise
  • Providing advice to the business on salary and compensation in line with statutory requirements as well as the Company’s philosophy and guidelines
  • Advising salary reviews based on market and sector-specific benchmarking to ensure competitiveness
  • Providing support on offer management as required
  • Assigning available staff to projects based on their skills, experience and team preferences
  • Providing project managers with ongoing resource management and related support
  • Monitoring employee utilization, workload, and overtime hours
  • Mitigating resource concerns by reallocating people, adjusting goals, or assigning additional staff
  • Assisting with processes, such as payroll administration, compensation and benefit plans, and staff training
  • Collaborating on resource management with internal departments. Documenting processes and maintaining records

Your Experience

As an international business with customers who respect our engineering capability, we are seeking candidates who have all or some of the following:

Academic and professional qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or relevant areas
  • A Master of Business Administration is a plus

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in IT outsourcing companies
  • Successful experience in resource management is a must
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills at all levels, the ability to build relationships quickly, and a flexible approach to be credible to various audiences.
  • Confident and resilient to deal with challenges -an experience of conflict resolution.
  • Commercial and risk-focused with good operational business acumen. Experienced in the usage of different communication tools Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and support process improvement.
  • Ability to provide clarity to complex problems and develop long-term solutions.
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Superb customer focus, attention to detail, prioritization, and organization skills.
  • Possess effective leadership qualities and insightful business judgment.
