Job Summary
As a Cloud Engineer / Architect you will participate in product-driven projects, represent Cloud Engineering team; collaborate with business stakeholders, software engineers, and infrastructure engineers to determine cloud strategy and requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance and configuration of multi-cloud-hosted infrastructure and cloud-native services.
- Design and implement plans for migrations to newer versions of infrastructure design, cloud, or application platforms.
- Design optimization plans to enhance scalability, reliability, and availability.
- Supervise incident handling and troubleshooting efforts, resolving technical issues related to cloud and infrastructure services.
- Contribute to the development of automation scripts and IaC templates to streamline infrastructure management processes.
- Contribute to automation development for end-to-end software lifecycle, user management and other initiatives.
- Stay updated with the latest Cloud technologies and services, evaluating their potential impact and proposing relevant solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure effective integration of cloud services.
- Maintain documentation related to cloud and infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Embrace DevOps approach and collaboration with other teams (Product, Operations, Engineering).
- Participate in product-driven projects, represent Cloud Engineering team.
- Lead the selection and implementation of cloud technologies and services based on architectural guidelines and best-fit solutions.
- Collaborate with product engineering teams to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Config as Code (CaC) principles and tools.
- Perform cloud cost analysis and optimization, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Conduct performance analysis, capacity planning, and optimization of cloud-based systems to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency.
- Provide guidance and coaching to cloud engineering team, assisting with technical challenges and complex problem-solving.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including product, security, operations, and other teams to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient cloud designs.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience in SRE or Cloud Engineer role.
- In-depth understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with Microsoft Azure/AWS cloud services.
- Familiarity with Azure/AWS networking principles and experience in configuring virtual networks, subnets, gateways, and security groups.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (PowerShell, Python, or similar) for automation and infrastructure management in Azure/AWS.
- In-depth knowledge of security best practices in Azure/AWS environments, including identity and access management, encryption, and Azure Security Center or AWS IAM.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well within the team as well as collaborate with product teams.
- Azure/AWS certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, AWS Solution Architect) are a plus, but not required.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to learning new cloud technologies and staying updated with industry trends.
- Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer, Cloud Architect, or similar role with a focus on large-scale cloud solutions.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with cloud providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure. Certification in one or more cloud platforms is highly desirable.
- Expertise in designing cloud-based solutions using Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) models.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture patterns, microservices, containers, and serverless computing.
- Proficiency in infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
- Solid understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Deep understanding of networking, security, and identity and access management (IAM) in cloud environments.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Zabbix, Logic Monitor, Red Gate, etc.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to effectively present complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (technical/engineering). Master’s degree is a plus.
