Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team and specialize in managing and processing data collected from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). In this role, you will build and maintain robust data pipelines, manage large-scale aerial datasets, and enable seamless data flow from UAV acquisition through preprocessing, storage, and analysis. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers to deliver data solutions that support innovative UAV applications in milltech.

Responsibilities

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles, with demonstrable exposure to ML/AI data workflows.
• Hands-on experience with processing large-scale geospatial and/or sensor data (imagery, video, telemetry, LiDAR).
• Proficiency in Python and/or SQL; experience with data engineering frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Airflow).
• Familiarity with ML frameworks and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and their data requirements.
• Experience enabling ML processes such as data labeling, augmentation, feature extraction, and building data pipelines for model training/inference.
• Familiarity with geospatial databases (PostGIS), GIS tools, and standard spatial data formats.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and scalable storage/compute solutions for ML workloads.
• Understanding of ETL, data warehousing, and best practices in managing ML datasets.

Requirements

• Experience with geospatial databases (e.g., PostGIS), data formats (e.g., GeoTIFF, LAS/LAZ, KML), and GIS tools.
• Solid understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehousing principles.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with UAV mission planning and data acquisition processes.
• Familiarity with video and image processing libraries (e.g., OpenCV, GDAL).
• Experience working with time-series data, sensor fusion, or real-time data streams.
• Knowledge of best practices in data privacy, security, and compliance in handling aerial imagery or sensitive data.
• Exposure to ML/AI workflows involving UAV data.
