27 Nerds offers consulting, design, and implementation of custom solutions which help businesses optimize their Esports strategies.

Position Overview:
As a Senior React Native + Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the full-stack development of a mobile application that will revolutionize the way esports festivals are experienced. You will be part of a dynamic and talented team, responsible for building both the high-performance, cross-platform mobile app and the robust backend infrastructure that powers it. The event app helps festival attendees who seek organized and immersive experiences by allowing them to create personal schedules and solve quests to earn achievements.

What you’ll be working on:
-Collaborate with the product team to design and implement engaging quests and challenges within the app.
-Develop and enhance avatar customization features, providing users with a unique and immersive experience.
-Continuously improve the user interface and user experience to drive higher engagement rates.
-Implement push notification systems to keep users informed about upcoming events, updates, and personalized recommendations.
-Integrate map and navigation functionalities, helping users navigate event venues seamlessly.
-Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers, to align on app features and functionalities.
-Design and develop scalable RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints to support mobile app functionality.
-Build and maintain real-time features using WebSockets for live updates, chat, and notifications
-Create and optimize database schemas and queries for user profiles, events, and app content.

What skills and characteristics are we looking for?
-Excellent demonstrable TypeScript experience;
-5+ years of commercial experience with React Native and Redux;
-3+ years of commercial experience with Node.js
-Proficiency in API design and development (REST, GraphQL)
-Experience with real-time technologies (Socket.io, WebSockets)
-React Native app architecture experience;
-Experience in core react native libraries such as react-native-gesture-handler, React Native Reanimated, React Navigation;
-Experience in deploying/managing apps on AppStore Developer and Google Play Console;
-Experience with CI CD tools;
-Excellent communication skills and upper-intermediate English.
